About the Authors
Stasia Obara Rawinski
Stasia Obara Rawinski was born of Polish immigrants and raised in South Grafton, Massachusetts. She graduated from Grafton High School and Becker Junior College in Worcester, Mass.
Her love of writing began in grade school when she wrote a poem for her favorite teacher and was made to read it before the class.
Many of her writings have appeared in the New Hampshire newspaper, the Littleton Courier, and the magazine, Magnetic North, as well as in the book on the history of Bethlehem, New Hampshire.
As the Polish immigrant population was passing away, the urge to write their history became increasingly important. She is currently writing a biography of her mother's life.
Joseph Kuras
Joseph Kuras, the grandson of Polish immigrants, was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and raised in South Grafton, Massachusetts. He graduated from Grafton High School and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts.
He was a sports correspondent for the Blackstone Valley Tribune newspaper. He was also a minor league baseball correspondent for "A Red Sox Journal in Waltham, Mass., and a contributing writer for "The Diamond Angle Quarterly", in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Kuras is a shareholder in the Polish National Home Association of South Grafton. He has held numerous positions as Recording Secretary, Financial Secretary, President and most currently, Treasurer.
